Interactive TV? Sounds just like a slightly limited game to me.

I don't think I like the idea of this to be honest, if I want to try and follow a story as I want to, I will play a good RPG, but when I watch TV I am wanting to sit there and not really participate in whether or not the character goes left or right down a corridor, I want them to make their own decision based on their own character's development.

By adding certain elements of interactivity to a show it makes it harder for script writers, both because there are now many different ways to proceed in several scenes and also by choosing different options it can alter how a character develops, which leave the show with characters that have no real depth to them, as there is no way to really develop them in one way.

I know that this may not be exactly what this is about, but it is what could eventually be what TV is like.

I think TV as a game probably isn't a good idea. Years ago I worked on a project to produce a short film in the with multiple choice options at the end of every scene. It was entertaining - but would never sustain as series. The BBC has done some work with options to pick up additional information, previews, behind the scenes extras as interactive options - and I much prefer that idea. I love the idea of being able to just watch, or watch and pick up more material if I want to.
